PermaBase® Brand Concrete Board is a rigid substrate composed of Portland cement, aggregate and fiberglass mesh forming an exceptionally hard and durable surface that withstands prolonged exposure to moisture. Basic uses PermaBase is particularly suitable as an underlay or backing surface around tub or shower, on countertops, on the floor and in all kinds of other interior applications. Outdoors, this product can be used for foundation walls or as a masonry veneer. It has excellent general characteristics of resistance to bending, compression and traction. - PermaBase has a high resistance to humidity, does not rot, disintegrate or swell when exposed to water. - 12.5 mm (1/2 in.) PermaBase sheets can be used in systems rated to resist fire for 1 hour and 2 hours and are UL listed. - PermaBase concrete panel has a smoother surface than some other panels on the market, and its sides are wrapped, reducing friction on the hands. - This is the concrete panel with the lowest water absorption rate according to ASTM C 473. - Suitable for indoor and outdoor applications.
