Too much ash in your wood stove?
Several of our customers ask us this question every week: how often should I remove the ashes from my wood stove? Ashes should be removed regularly for proper cleaning, but the frequency will greatly depend on your usage.
The more you use your stove, the more frequently you will need to remove the ashes. Generally, it is suggested to remove the ash once every 2-3 days when you heat up to maximum. This is best done when your fireplace is relatively cool, but there is still enough draft to suck dust into the interior of the fireplace. This will prevent it from spilling into the room.
What to do with the ashes?
When removing the ash from your stove, be careful as it can stay hot for several days. The ideal is to use an ash scoop to empty them into a metal container with a waterproof cover. Immediately take the container outside and place it away from any flammable material, on a non-combustible floor. After a few days, when the ashes have cooled completely, you can dispose of them and voila!

Can we replace a damaged paver?
You, who have invested in a paved driveway or backyard, have just noticed that it has been damaged in some way. Can you replace it? If so, how? The answer is yes, as long as you saved a few more pavers when you installed them.
First, you have to remove the sand seal that surrounds the paver and then remove the latter with two screwdrivers. Once you have disposed of the damaged paver, lay the new one in exactly the same spot. All that remains is to fill the joint with polymeric sand and compact everything with a rubber mallet.
And now, neither seen nor known, your concrete pavement is like new!

Pizza on the grill? Of course!
If you don't want to heat up the inside of your home by running your oven because of the summer heat, but you still want a good pizza, you can very well do it on your BBQ. Here are our tips for cooking pizza on the grill!
The process is simple. First, you need to get a Napoleon pizza stone and place it on your BBQ grill. It is important that the stone heats up gradually along with the grill because a thermal shock could cause it to break.
You could just as easily cook one from scratch or unwrap a frozen pizza. It is recommended to prepare the pizza directly on a pizza spatula and then tranfser it directly on the hot pizza stone.
Once the pizza is ready and the BBQ is at the right temperature, place your pizza on the pizza stone, close the BBQ lid and let cook. To remove the pizza from the BBQ once it's done, the Napoleon pizza spatula will still be useful.
And now, voila!
